AhlulBayt News Agency - Hours ago, Syrian government troops captured several points on the eastern and northern perimeter of al-Eis in southern Aleppo. This advance has them positioned just a few hundred meters from al-Eis itself.
While Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers are yet to physically enter the town and its nearby hill, they are expected to storm the area either during the night or some time tomorrow.
Over the evening hours alone, Russian jets have struck the town and hill of al-Eis with over 20 airstrikes, as intel indicates that local SAA commanders are more than keen to recapture this tactically vital high ground which was lost yesterday.
However, 9 Hezbollah fighters have been killed (confirmed) in this area in the past two days while dozens of government troops have also been killed-in-action during yesterday’s combat with rebels in southern Aleppo Meanwhile, the death toll among insurgents is believed to be close to 100 and will likely surpass it during the nightly air raids at al-Eis.
Moscow and Damascus have seemingly been angered by Islamist rebels breaching the Syrian ceasefire yesterday, by attacking and capturing government-held checkpoints in southern Aleppo and northeastern Latakia.
Therefore, Russian pilots have been ordered to strike with a vengeance seconded only to their extensive and highly coordinated air raids on Palmyra city, where ISIS was expelled last week.
